Vista

Posted: March 28, 2007 in Operating Systems
I loaded Vista on my Tablet about two weeks ago.  I like it so far.  Once I customized Vista to calm down some services I didn’t need and changed the indexing features it started working like a charm.  Since my Tablet originaly came with MS Windows WP Tablet Edition, it was pretty much ready for the extra loads Vista would put on it. The XP Tablet OS was definatly a step in the right direction, but I’m really glad they built the tablet features into Vista.  It seems like the full integration keeps the services working in sync and there are a lot fewer paging issues.

From what I’ve seen Vista got a bad wrap.  If my Tablet can run it using an Athlon XP 2500+m and one gig of ram, then I’m pretty sure that a lot of computers out there can.  I’m not able to run the aero features though which I’m almost sad about, (I really wanted to try the dream scene desktop background effects).  But my fan isn’t running at full blast anymore and the inking/pen features in Vista are a bit better than those in XP Tablet Edition.
